Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Super simple recipe that looks fantastic and is even more delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of uncured bacon (nitrate free)
  • 1 lb of wild caught shrimp, peeled, tail on (24 count)
  • 4 Tablespoons of your favorite natural BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • 1. Take the package of bacon and using either a knife or scissors, cut each strip of bacon into 1/3 pieces.
  • 2. Take the piece of bacon and wrap around the body of each shrimp, avoiding the tail, and secure with a toothpick.
  • 3. Place the raw bacon wrapped shrimp on foil and either on a broiling rack if you plan to cook in the oven, or on a grill basket, if you plan to grill.
  • 4. Baste the shrimp with the bbq sauce.
  • 5. Make sure your oven is on broil, or your grill is pre-heated to about 400.
  • 6. Put the shrimp on the grill in the grill basket over the heat, or in the oven on broil on the top rack.
  • 7. Allow to cook about 5 minutes, and then flip the shrimp using tongs.
  • 8. Baste one more time with the BBQ sauce, and broil or grill an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • 9. The shrimp is ready when it is pink, and the bacon is crispy.
